83 state, regional and municipal music theatres reveal an ambitious programming policy ranging from early to contemporary music. The German Theatre and Orchestra Association registers an average of 13,000 performances of operas, operettas, musicals and ballets every year, attended by almost eight million spectators. On our map, theaters are depicted with regard to the seating capacity of their principle venues.
